I've got our recording for SIBF here. So please do take note the mistakes that we've made and improve on it okay!

Oh yah, and SLs please make sure to inform your section that they are to wear their band tee for tmr's parade rehearsal. Everyone is to report at 2pm sharp to move all percut instrument.

75.43! We improved :DD As long as we improve more, I bet you guys will be prepared for syf next year. Please.. NEVER be complacent, work even harder as you people know that we did not perform our best during SIBF.

This will be a good time to learn from our mistakes for our SIBF competition.

Hi all,
I hope everyone's prepared for tomorrow's competition(?)

MOST IMPORTANTLY, PLEASE, PLEASE DO LOOK AT MR WONG TOMORROW! STOP STARING AT YOUR SCORES!! VERY NICE MEHH!? Look out for tempo changes, etc. & please note the 5 rules as mentioned earlier.

DON'T GO ON STAGE WITH A BLANK MIND! THATS.. very dangerous.

DO put in your very best alright! Please don't disappoint mr wong once again, PLEASE. I'm sure you people won't want to regret only after performing, that's bad seriously. Why not give in your very best and don't regret.

Last of all, you got to enjoy your performance. BUT! Don't get to over enthu until you forget about the 5 golden rules. I'll test you people the 5 rules again tomorrow and make sure everyone remembers it clearly.

Before i end off, REMEMBER! DON'T BE SCAREDDDDDDDD! SLs, please make your your section members are feeling alright throughout the entire day :D

Anyw, ALL THE BEST & LET'S ALL WORK HARD TOWARDS OUR GOAL!

Report by 2.15pm.
Attendence is compulsory!
Junior, you are welcome to come and do your individual practise.

Its just a few more days to SIBF and Paragon performance. Work hard! :)

This goes to all current band memebers. (SLs to take extra note)

Celestine mentioned all the points Mr Wong had said today. Please note that you need to understand them. I will be posting the details of them here (:

FIRSTLY, get your posture and the holding of your instrument correct.

1. AIR
- Inhale deeply & correctly at all points of phrasing esp slow movements.
- Exhale with good and focus speed & think far to project sound.
- This applies when playing soft. Only the quantity of air changes.

2. EYE CONTACT / LOOK AT CONDUCTOR
- Look up and not at your music score/stand.
a) For ensemble purpose
b) For better sound

3. SAME PARTS TO SOUND LIKE ONE / SAME PARTS, SOUND TOGETHER
- Starting of note 'Articulation'
- Ending of note ' Sound shape'

4. STARTING AND ENDING TOGETHER
- End of phrase (esp the release)
- Look at conductor

5. OPEN UP YOUR EARS ( choose to listen )
a) For Intonation purpose
b) For Balance ( of groups/ parts )
c) For Blend ( of groups/ parts )

Mr wong is thinking of planning an extra sectional on this thursday, anytime in the afternoon. Please sms Huixiu if you can make it on that day. SMS here ASAP.

There will be individual practise tmr. Attendance is complusory.
Upper sec, come after your afternoon lessons. Lower sec, come after your classes end also.
Band room should be open by 2-3pm.
Practises will end at 6pm. See you there! :)

CRESCENDO

You people were really great (:

To all ensemble group performers, every single one of you did a really terrific job! Although you people might think that there were some mistakes here and there, but I know that all of you did your very best :D Great job!

Like what Mr Wong told us, he could hear and feel that all of you were doing your best to portray a musical performance. He would also like to thank those who had performed and the hard work that you'd put in.

Also, with all the SMILES (right?) and enthusiasm before and during the show, I can see that you people were enjoying and thats good (: Remember, certain lightness of heart seems healthier than nervousness on their behalf.

11 MORE DAYS TO SIBF COMPETITION!

I would really hope that the seniors can work tremendously hard like how you guys worked for syf last year. Although arts fest's over, we still have something very important to work hard on. So please do come for band practice often so that mr wong can work with us our merry widow and showdown.

HURRY! TIME IS RUNNING OUT FAST and we don't have much time left. So please, please, please make an effort to practice and we shall make mr wong be proud of us alright!

Let's all work together as a team towards this goal of obtaining a great award during SIBF competition. ONE BAND, ONE SOUND!

Anyway, to those involve in the school's Art Fest Concert. Please remember to bring your clothes and shoes for Art Fest on Tuesday. Ms Shariffa wanna check your attire for the concert?

To bring:
- black long-sleeve shirt
- black skirt (no mini-skirt. must be at least knee length) / long black pants for guys
- cord shoes / black shoes for guys
- stocking must be black! no other colors.

Sec 1, your seniors may not have the time for you due to our upcoming events. So please make a effort to practise and get the notes right for the national day pieces. Don't know anything, ask your seniors!
